Polish Conference of Historians of Cartography, dedicated to ‘Map and Text. Links of Maps with Literature and with Other Cultural Texts’

On September 16-18, 2020, a Polish fellow of our UNESCO Chair, Dr. P.Krokosz, took part at 33rd Polish Conference of Historians of Cartography, dedicated to ‘Map and Text. Links of Maps with Literature and with Other Cultural Texts’. Dr. Krokosz  gave a report entitled ‘Old Historic Maps – Synthesis of Russian History in the 18th and the 19th Centuries’. The report was dedicated to cultural aspects of maps, including their role in the ongoing intercultural dialogue between Poland and Russia. Summaries of reports presented at the Conference.

The Northern Caucasus Affiliation

On March 25, 2015, the Northern Caucasus affiliation of our Chair was inaugurated in the city of Derbent, basing upon the premises of the State University of Daghestan, and the Naryn-Kala historical, architectural and artistic museum.
